The collection is made with marble. As it is a natural product, variations in tone, colour, granularity and pattern my occur. Because of this, the sample may not exactly match a slab or fi nished product. One of the key characteristics of natural travertine is the holes and pits gracing the surface and inside of the stone. These random holes present in natural travertine are considered normal characteristics of this stone and therefore not defects.
Product sizes may vary up to 2 cm.

1. What is the difference between the "Lacquered Wood" and "Veneer" finishes?
We offer two distinct wood expressions for the Catus. The Lacquered Wood provides a sleek, uniform, and saturated color (perfect for a high-gloss or matte contemporary look), while the Oak Veneer showcases the natural grain, texture, and rhythmic patterns of real wood. Both are applied over a high-density core to ensure the table’s "floating" cantilever design remains structurally perfect without warping over time.
2. Is the wood finish durable enough for a busy entryway?
Yes. Every Catus Wood Console is finished with professional-grade protective coatings (lacquer or performance sealants) that resist daily wear. However, because wood is softer than marble, it is more susceptible to "micro-scratches" from keys or heavy mail. We recommend placing a small decorative tray or a felt-bottomed bowl on the surface to act as a "landing zone" for everyday items.
3. How do I maintain the wood's luster and prevent fading?
The biggest enemy of fine wood furniture is direct sunlight and moisture. To prevent the veneer from fading or "silvering," avoid placing the console in a spot that receives intense, direct afternoon sun. For cleaning, never use ammonia-based sprays or "all-purpose" kitchen cleaners. A slightly damp microfiber cloth followed immediately by a dry soft cloth is all you need to maintain the factory finish.
4. Does the "Wood" version require the same White-Glove delivery as the "Marble"?
While the wood version is significantly lighter than the several-hundred-pound marble Catus, it still possesses a "monolithic" base that is awkward to move alone. To ensure the delicate edges of the veneer are not chipped during transit or placement, we still recommend White-Glove Delivery. Our team will uncrate it and place it exactly where you want it, ensuring the "balance" of the cantilever is perfectly leveled on your floor.
5. Can I customize the wood species or lacquer color?
Because the Catus Wood Console is made-to-order (shipping in approximately 10-12 weeks), we offer a high degree of flexibility. Whether you are looking for a specific wood stain to match your existing dining chairs or a bold, custom lacquer color to make a statement in a hallway, our design team can work with you to create a bespoke piece that fits your specific palette.
